“Well, at least the Packers’ __________.” The worst part is that you can’t finish this sentence because they did nothing well.  Offense, defense, kicking, tackling, covering, throwing, running, catching, blocking, coaching: all bad. I was watching the game and the late Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart called me during the 3rd quarter and  said, “Remember when I said I’d know obscenity when I saw it? ” I tell you it was a complete Forest Gregg,  a solid Phil Bengston of a performance. Scooter McLean showed up for alumni weekend and took over as head coach. Estus Hood had to have been somewhere on the field.  Thank God nobody got killed. And then it rained. Jeebus.

If you think watching that game on TV was bad, try watching it in person. Urgh… although the feelings of being there watching a great win in person (Bears game) outweigh those of watching a terrible loss. Having said that, this year’s Bengals are not a bad team – this is a lot like last year when the Packers lost an October game to the Falcons, who were horrible in 2007 but a playoff team in 2008.

McCarthy needs to get some things fixed (and not just pay lip service to doing so), or else he will be on the hot seat by season’s end. This is a talented, playoff-quality team. One year of underperforming is an anomaly. Two is a pattern…

Didn’t get to see the game out here – a Bengston, Gregg, McLean performance – geez, it must have been bad! The Bungels are a bad team with a good quarterback and decent passing game. If you let then hang around they can beat you. Fortunately, my fantasy football opponent must have thought highly of the Packers D and benched Carson Palmer and started Matt Hasselback instead who left the game with an injury.
