Another American Hero Gone

If you’ve lived in The Sha for half a century like me, you know the Holm family name. Leif Holm, a Norwegian immigrant who flew B17s in WWII, a fine athlete in his own right and progenitor of athletic children, particularly  high school wrestlers, has passed away. Thank you for your service, sir.

    Yes thank you.

I just happened upon this while thinking of my dad and searching the web. My father was one in a million! He and my Mother created a wonderful family. Not to be boastful, it’s just rare to see such a large family so close these days.

He was a beautiful man who continues to influence not only his own family but, all who’s lives he has touched.

There’s are a lot of wonderful stories from his great life.

I thank you as well. It is at times like this that we find out just how much he touched the lives of others.
We have heard from many of the athletes he has coached over the years and how they felt he had molded them into what they have become today.

Thank you again for mentioning our father.

My condolences to your entire family. It was an entire generation of heroes, the likes of which I fear we shall not see again.

    Dear Palever,

Your sentiments are wonderful and well received by Leif’s entire family. Although my father will be dearly missed we are also in awe of the impact of his life. He was a war hero, coach that built many quality men , and a sports standout, but most importantly a wonderful father and a great man. We are blessed to have been part of his life. Leif Holm’s legacy lives on.
