John’s Root Beer Gets UWM Thumbs Up
Front Page Milwaukee liked their visit to John’s. I just had my first two chili dogs of 2007 there yesterday. The author couldn’t get any info on John Meehan, the owner. She should have checked next door, he’s been known to go to Billy D’s.
Let’s see. He’s always at work at about 10:00 a.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year. Rarely takes a vacation. Owns the business but not the land or building. An old lady in California owns that. John mixes the root beer in the basement, also makes the soups and chili. The fish fry is pretty good. He thought about buying Scrima’s Pizza before it closed to become a used car lot. That was Waukesha’s loss. Nice enough guy. Type A personality. Good golfer, bowler, pool player, dart thrower. He and I played Golden Tee Golf as a team in a tournament when it came out and I had his dad for 8th Grade math. Anything else you would like to know?
