Rainy Wednesday Dispatches
October 4, 2006
Now that WordPress is back here’s what’s happening:
- The annexation of swamp land south of Waukesha is coming back. Expect that the on-going water problems for the city will trump concerns of increased fire response times and this time the annexation will pass.
- Paul Bucher starts his investigation of the state Elections Board. I’m not optimistic that anything will change.
- Drugs from Canada will no longer be hindered. Good.
- Bryan Kennedy, the Democratic candidate for Congress in the 5th District, has a guest opinion. Two really picky things: Why is Jim Sensenbrenner “F. James Sensenbrenner” but Bryan Kennedy is not “Bryan Leigh Woodford Kennedy”? The other thing is Kennedy saying, “I fail to address the white elephant in the room:”. That would be a mixed metaphor. It’s the English major in me.
- Belling’s column is actually somewhat complimentary of Dan Vrakas’ budget.
- While we’re on Belling, Wigderson rightly asks why Belling gives no credit to Wiggy in the Sobran affair. Belling is all about Belling. He doesn’t blog and doesn’t give any credit to bloggers, not directly at least. While I agree with him on many issues, I find him arrogant much of the time and mostly stuck in 1996.

Re Kennedy’s column (I’ve got to go back and read the other Kennedy’s column): The Left likes the “F” because its the first letter of a well-known expletive which makes a fine adjective in front of his name.
Second, he still failed to address the white elephant (just to get your English major exercised again) except to say the obvious: we can’t stay there forever, its bad our young men and women are dying and Iraq must become self-sufficient soon. DUH!
